She's done!

Finally! My luscious pink scarfy is FINISHED! You saw her in the previous post while i was knitting her at our Summerstock readthrough, and i pretty much finished her right there. She's kinda on the short side but you know what, i like her that way. You know u always end up with too much scarf and u don't know what to do with it, well she's different. SOOO pink and SOO fuzzy!! I have to admit.. originally i was making her as a gift but i like her WAAAY too much, i'm keeping 'er! But never fear cause i bet i'll be making more just like her, maybe different colors, to give away.. cause she was fun to knit.

Alright well i had a super weekend, other than today when i really didn't even leave the house. I finished editing my group project and did a bunch of stats homework, but that was about it. but you don't care about that so i'll u the juicy stuff. So yeah friday night we went to Tantra.. Ryan, Sandy, Ryan's sister and I. It was pretty cool, there was a Haskayne thing going on so i kept running into tons of business students. Ran into a guy from junior high, Andrew, boy how people change! Ryan spent all his time chasing Sandy and spending all his money on the both of us (hey i'm not going to complain), and i danced with some fun people.. and some not so fun business dorks! hah.. i wish i had taken my camera cause everyone was really dressed up (including Ryan and I) and we all looked pretty good i must say!

There look she likes my pink hat just as much as the other scarf.

Haha look at me trying to make her look longer.. alas i'm going to have to accept her the way she is.

Then yesterday i worked for the first time in a MONTH! i mean it.. since before my birthday. Hah it was fun, nice little 4 and a half hour shift, man i work hard. Then after Ryan came over and we ate pizza that i brought home from work (my own special recipe, i call it the Colleen express.. coincidentally the same name as my own personal train.. have i told this story already? :p). Then we got ice cream and Robyn came over and we all watched Shrek 2. Cept i forget most of the movie cause we talked through the whole thing, and apparently i missed the best part cause we stopped watching when the credits came on. Whats with all this stuff after the credits.. what happened to the good old days when the movie was over when the movie was over?! Anyhow Ry-face was sure that i couldn't polish off the entire tub of Haagen Dazs in one sitting.. i sure proved HIM wrong! So he knows i can eat a ton of ice cream.. now he just thinks i'm going to become morbidly obese and will never get a boyfriend :p

Hmm i'm going to try and get a picture of us in class tomorrow so you guys can put a face with the name when i keep talking about people you don't know. GOD DAMN this yellow sweater is so itchy, i'm trying to wear it around the house to break it in and get used to it.. but really this just sucks, its so cute and fuzzy and HELL to wear. I think it's going back, which means i think i'm going to scrap that cabled toque i was going to make. Meh, gives me more time to work on christmas/hannuka presents.. any requests??

Niiiight!
Love,
Colleen

PS: i promise if you click on the pictures u can see them BIGGER

first read through!

Alright!! we had our first Annie Get Your Gun readthrough last night at summerstock, what fun! i took some awesome pictures, and i knit on my fuzzy pink scarf! i ran out of hot pink fun fur though so i don't know what to do, i can stop where i'm at (which i think is a bit too short) or i can buy more yarn for 5 bucks and only use a bit of it to finish my scarf. i know 5 bucks doesn't sound like a lot but i've already spent 10 bucks on the yarn for this scarf and if i spend another 5 i could have definitely bought a better scarf for that much. BAH

LOOOOK at my scarf!! (oh and Liam and Lex!)

Rielle actually looks pretty serious... i didn't know she was THAT good of an actress. muahahaha

So there's Rielle and Scott, our leading Man and Lady. They were terrific at the read through. Oh and we pretty much just laughed the entire way through. Ryan's accent was SUPERB! ahaha oh and same with Mike. Or the time Joelle said little Jake's line. Just to show you how serious we are about this, i took this next picture...

Is it just me or does Rielle look in pain, and Scott a little too happy. Perhaps he just stabbed her in the knee with a pen. Yeaaa that must be it.

Well guys that was an awesome rehearsal and i can tell we have such a talented cast. Oh and Caley you're going to have to stop being such seductive Dolly cause i'm starting to have very incestuous thoughts.. eep! eehehe. All of you who couldn't be at rehearsal because you're probably out of town... we missed you! i wish you all could have been there :)

Colleen

warning... EGC (extremely goofy content)

Alright well finally my BSEN midterm is over. It was going fine until the last page of the written response where everything i SWEAR turned into Greek. Alright well maybe not, but it could have been greek for all i knew, which means i knew nothing. That page was only worth about 10% of the test so maybe ill still be okay, but really, it was insane.

So now i sit at my desk, eating what is possibly the best tasting chocolate cake ever, drinking my milk, and feeling bad cause i was talking to Keith on msn about a girl he met on the bus and then my internet cut out and i swore i wouldn't go back on cause i'm sure it's pissing everyone off that i keep signing in and out so i didn't go back on.. i'm SORRY Keith! Tell me the story tomorrow at rehearsal!

Alright well, remember that shirt i got at the thrift store during reading days? It has officially become my 3rd favorite shirt, right behind the DANCE WITH FRANCE shirt that is black with neon pink and green writing with HOT VIBE on the back (sidenote: i saw a guy at the U wearing the exact same shirt so naturally i freaked out and had to talk to him about it, turns out he got it at the thrift store. man i had to dance my butt off to get that shirt), and in 2nd is my Dauncey Family Reunion 1993 shirt that was WAAAY too big for me at the time but now fits perfectly.

SO in light of my new 3rd favorite... i had to take some pictures, and i was being overly goofy so if you don't want to see me being a big ball of goof, then don't scroll down.

Click on the pictures to see larger views.. especially the one on the left (then you can see my lovely photo commentary!)

Alright that's enough of me for one night, come see me soon and i'll take pictures of YOU instead of ME and then i can have someone else to put up here :) Until then you'll have to put up with my mug on this page.

Love you all.. me so seepy

HAPPY FRIDAY

Colleen

PS: Matt i'm sorry! they dragged me into the Black Swan, i said NO i will not go this is me and matts place.. but alas, i feared for my life so i just did what i had to. We'll go on a saturday night when u come back it'll be wicked. :)

i just spent 6 months in...

a leaky boat! oh Heather, that song was just on the radio and it reminded me of the terrible (i mean terribly GOOD) music we used to listen to in the car. Howabout Tarzan Boy.. or One Night in Bangkok. brings a smile to my face and tear to my eye

Anyhow, i was going to update you all on my life last night but it just seemed so terribly boring that i didn't want to bore you all by association. ALAS here i am, about to tell you what i did last night...

Alright well i had to study a bunch for my Business midterm this thursday, which is really our final, cause it's the last test we have, but they call it a midterm for no good reason. So as i was sitting at my cluttered desk mustering up the strength to open my book, when i got the genius idea that i needed a CANDLE and if i just had a candle burning on my desk i would be motivated to study all the night through. HAH. so i couldn't find any decent candles but i did find my candle making set from like.. gr 6... so i made my own candle!! It took me like 2 min to do, i found the cutest jar and made up the entire thing and then realized i didn't have a freaking WICK. So i yanked the wick out of this other candle i had that i hadn't burned yet, and put it in my new candle. Here's my creation in all it's glory:

Look how insanely messy my desk is, how on earth do i work in such a small space? Well, the answer is i barely work. muahaha
Anyhow can you see that cute little jam jar i used to make my little pink (of course) candle? Look at the LID! it's all plaid and tartan-y. superb i say. Here's a closeup for those of you who.. oh who am i kidding nobody cares about my candle.

Oooh and i scented it with country berry oil.

So that's pretty much the end of that adventure. I went for dinner tonite with my mommy to McDonalds. That was a nice treat, we hardly go out for dinner at all anymore cause we never know who's going to be home for dinner or whos going to be working or at school or what. And i saw Jax today at the train station, apparently she was calling SCHMOOOO down the stairs but i didn't hear her cause i had music on. Ooh and i saw my Aunt on the train yesterday, she recognized me cause of my one-of-a-kind toque (i was wearing the red and white one i knit, see a entries back). Yeah i know thats not much of a story, you don't have to tell me again, i got ridiculed at school yesterday for telling it to my friends. :(

Alright lets see if i can actually get some studying done tonite, preferably before 8 because i want to go to the mall and shop at Old Navy. I've been completely sucked in by their sweater and performance fleece commercials on TV. Somehow i feel like i NEED a fairisle turtle neck and a half zip performance fleece sweater.

I promise next post i'll post pictures of ANIMATE objects :)

Lazy Saturday

Wow what a lazy day i had today. I really didn't do much of anything.. which gave me lots of time to take these pics so that i could show you all what i've been up to. First we have MY FINISHED PINK HAT!! i started that fuzzy pink scarf WAAY before this hat but the hat just took over my life and i had to finish it.. so the scarf remains half-done. Here's my baby in all it's glory..

Look at that pom-pom!

i made it ALLLL by myself! No pattern or anything, which made for a lot of ripping out stitches when it wasn't turning out right. Here's a pic of the scarf that inspired me to make this hat, i was hoping they'd match.. its not a perfect match but it works!
Man my scarf must love my hat as much as i do! :)

Alright now onto my next project. I bought this sweater recently and was super excited cause it's insanely fuzzy (it's angora) and i have baby yellow yarn that is exactly like this and fuzzy in the same way. SO i was going to make a cabled toque out of the yarn to match this sweater. I was really excited but when i put on the sweater to take this picture, i realized it's really itchy. So... the fate of this sweater still hasnt been decided.. therefore the fate of my unborn cabled hat is still in limbo as well. I just might end up taking this sweater back to the store :(

See how fuzzy it is?? MMM

Well last night was Tribute at Summerstock and that was amazing, i love hearing from everyone in such an intimate setting. Everyone just lets us into their minds and hearts for just a second and it's really beautiful.

Tonight me and Dave O went with Adam K to his friend from work's party. It was pretty chill, met some cool/crazy people, they're all 20 somethingish. Then around 12 we all decided to head on over to the Black Swan (a local pub for those of you who don't know it). WHO KNEW it was going to be so crazy there! There were tons of people and there was wicked music and everyone was dancing as if it were a club.. but less crowded and dark .. so u could actually dance without getting trampled. It was awesome we all danced and had fun and i met some really nice people :)

So thats why i got home so late.. it's now almost 3:30 so i think i better pack it in and get to bed.

Lets all pray that i can get some work done tomorrow :)

Love,

Colleen

my nose is cold

Tonight me and my dear friend Heather went for a drink at the Bull & Finch and then went to see the Notebook. Holy man is that ever the best and saddest movie of all time. Anyone else absolutely love that movie??? At one point during a really sad love part i touched my nose and it was freezing cold. Maybe that doesn't mean anything to some of you but .. if u know me really well..

Anyways by the end of the movie me and Heather were bawling our eyes out, literally sobbing.. audibly! Yeah a little embarassing but you just can't HELP IT! We were the last ones out of the theatre, still crying like babies, and looking for my earring on the sticky floor (she finally got the *bright* idea to use her cell phone light to find it.. excuse the bad pun!).

Oooh i finally got on top of my game and organized my knitting stuff. I put it in this box that i hodgepodged with pink memories in the summer. One night me and Matt E stayed up till Super late hodgpodging this box with my old nextdoor neighbors who were moving the next day. What a cute night that was. I never finished the job though, we got way too tired that night and i never felt like it was right to finish it without Matt. But yeah i put my projects on one side and my yarn/needles/patterns on the other. I couldn't fit all my yarn in there of course but i put some of the cute stuff in. Here's a pic..

Here's a super artsy thing Matt did for the side of the box. Incredibly neat!

Oh and just so i don't forget altogether about this project, here's my fuzzy pink scarf that i've been sorely neglecting, and the beginnings of a little pink toque i'm crocheting to match the base color of the scarf.
Alright well it's time i went to bed, i got no sleep last night and i have to get up early to go to the orthodontist tomorrow morning. YAY more fun with my teeth. At least that means i get to stop in at TACO BELL when i'm up in westhills. Gosh i love that place :) mmm
Love,
Colleen
PS: leave me a comment... no really.. do it :) they make me happy

Short day, long night

So i tried to force myself to do my homework yesterday...
I got maybe a quarter of the way through studying for my anthro test on tuesday and that was IT. I'm terrible!! So what, i still have today to do it, right? Well not really. I sorta woke up at 3:00pm today, so there goes half the day out the window. So after dinner i'm going to buckle down and finish it all (yeah right how many times have i said that). No really.. i HAVE to or i'll totally fail all my tests.

Anyways why did i sleep in so late? Well i was out last night until 6am. Yep u heard me.. 6 in the morning. Matt had a 'gathering' and i just couldn't force myself to leave that house one minute before i absolutely HAD to. Here are some sweet pics i took last night (even though my camera was totally running out of batteries.. i frantically took as many shots as possible).

Who's that well dressed man? Look how happy i am to see Davey!

Ahem.. guys could u stop doing it in the hallway long enough for me to take a good picture?

Finally a pic with Darlene... and a cute one too!

I had to get this pic cause of the beautiful levels everyone was inadvertantly making. All my former drama teachers would be so proud right now :)

Alright well so ends the infamous 'reading days' break which actually only included 1 reading day, but left us with a 4 day weekend. WOOT! I had a ton of fun, thanx to my friends :) Plus i got a lot of knitting/crochet done, i'll show you later! I guess it's back to reality, i'm going to miss all of you that are going back to university out of town, and those of you who i just rarely see because we're all so busy. PLUS, i miss all of you who didn't come home and i can't wait till Christmas when we can party it up big time!

Love, Colleen

a day to remember..

What a fun day we had yesterday. Pam, Beth and I went to Value Village, oh yes we did, to shop for 'vintage items'. We ended up buying some really cute things, but along the way we got a little goofy and tried on some hideous things as well.
Whoever said Value Village wasn't the height of fashion..
LIED!

After our fun shopping experience we all went to Bagolac for some serious Vietnamese cuisine. MMM, i love that place. Nobody beats Vietnamese spring rolls. Here's a pic that we took outside of the restaurant, the lights kinda messed up but the picture is so cute that i dont even care.

kinda eerie eh?

So after all that shopping here's what i ended up wearing to Cowboys..
This outfit consists of my new shirt, necklace and earrings from Le Chateau, and Lindsays lovely turqoise skirt.

When we got to the club we had to wait for at least half an hour in the stupid freezing cold line outside. I definitely couldn't feel my feet by the time we got inside, but that quickly changed cause it was so packed in there that i warmed right up. There were tons of people there that we knew and everyone had fun.. for the most part. Some of us got pretty fed up with country music by the end.. but what do u expect from a club named 'Cowboys'. I only wish i had gotten a picture of Janes C'boy boots. But i did get some action pics from the night on the town:

Well, this post is insanely long and i'm guessing Akiva's the only one that will read it all the way through, but hopefully some more of you made it through, cause it took me a lot of time! :)
Love,
Colleen

i have the best friends in the world!

So on this lovely monday evening my super friends Stef and Heather came over to give me my belated birthday present/card. this is by far the BEST card i have EVER recieved. They must have put so much time and thought and love and stickers into this card.. no jokes.. lotsa stickers. Here's the front of the fab card which is actually several pages long with a new picture and new stickers on every page...

it's painful how true this is ;)

and i got a lovely new pink and white striped scarf from Stef. I love it! it's perfect cause there's no way i'd knit myself one that long, i would get SO bored so quickly, so the only way i'd get a scarf this long and beautiful is if someone great bought one for me :) Here's me and the girls, and i know we don't look happy but i wanted just ONE picture with out heinous red-eye so we were concentrating really hard !

we really are happy on the inside, i promise

Ooh you can also sorta see my new haircut in this picture... the first thing stef and heather said when i opened the door was "wow your hair". I think i'm not the only one that's accustomed to me having long hair all the time (you can see how long it was in that pic on the front of my card). Oh well it'll always grow out, for now it's just too hard to keep up with long hair when i'm trying to make my way through school and winter and all. I can't wait to model all my new scarves and hats... watch out winter HERE I COME WITH LOTS OF WOOLY KNITS!! your snow can't phase me :p

Alright one last thing made me happy, Stef got me this new lipsmacker (my one obsession.. lipshit) and it's pink and white (to perfectly go with the scarf) and it's even called 'birthday'. WOOT i'm definitely excited. LOOK!
matchy matchy!

Alright well thats enough pink for one day :)
I better go study some economics, i have a mid-term on Wednesday.

oh Billy Elliot, you dancing fiend you

I got my hair cut today. Inevitably it's shorter than i wanted it cause hairdressers have some sort of disease that won't let them follow orders, but i actually quite like it. i'm sure in a week i'll be sad cause i miss my long dark hair, but for now it's cute. I'll show u a better pic of it when i actually style it, but for now u can see how short my pigtails are underneath my toque. This hat was my first 'knitting in the round' project, i bought circular needles specially for this project AND ended up buying double pointed needles as well, to finish it off. it was quite the learning experience.. and Voila:

me in my first london beanie that i made specifically to match this scarf

So after i got my hair cut i came home and tried to study a bit. I ended up reading SOME of my Econ textbook and finishing MOST of my Stats questions. "some" and "most" aren't very assuring words in the world of university. Oops. oh well there's always tomorrow. Tonight i watched Billy Elliot by myself, what a cute movie. As much as i hate not going out and having fun, it's not so bad to spend a weekend in with the family. While i was watching the movie i worked on my luscious pink scarfy.. its coming along slowly but surely. I really hope i don't have to buy another ball of the pink fun fur, that stuff's expensive.

theres my scarfy sitting on top of the textbook i was 'supposed to be reading'... oops

Alright well i think it's about bed time, i gotta get up tomorrow and finish all the homework i didn't do today, and do a bunch of laundry. So excited for a 3 DAY WEEK this up-coming week!! YAY

Night :)

oh i am so dreadfully bored right now
i guess that's cause it's 1:56 am and theres really not a lot to do when you're at home at that time, now if i was OUT somewhere... say EDMONTON.. maybe that'd be different but ALAS, i'm not.

feeling a bit better though, but i can't take that and run with it and then just get sick again, i have to be diligent about getting back to the 100% that i haven't been since oh say .. march.

we had our awards thing last night at my highschool, it was nice to go back and see a bunch of people i haven't seen since graduation, but most of the 2004 graduates that i saw there all go to UofC and i see them quite regularly..
but the most exciting part was getting my HONORS MEDALLION. yep thats what 3 straight years of studying my ass off and worrying so much about school gets me. so THERE all you people who went to "parties" and drank "beer" and had "fun". WHERES YOUR MEDALLION NOW?!

Me and 2 great guys that i don't see enough of at university (and our medallions of course!..look how SHINY!

well i have a great weekend ahead of me.. staying home by my mothers orders. i figure i'll use this time to catch up on my sorely neglected schoolwork. i got some new notebooks.. maybe that'll motivate me. at any rate i plan to spend this weekend sleeping, eating, studying, knitting, and watching dvds. hopefully that will make me healthy again by monday!

Good night :)

Colleen

today was not so pink

feels more like blue.. cause i'm home sick, feeling about as crappy as i did last year right around grad time when i had to miss a ton of school and Summerstock and had to take steroids right before grad just so that i wouldn't have a rash all over my entire body (which was a reaction to the antibiotics my doctor MISTAKENLY gave me). Yep that was fun times. OHH and then we had to perform "When God Comes for Breakfast You Don't Burn the Toast" for our schools drama showcase and my throat was swollen up so much that i sounded like.. well i don't even know what i sounded like but it was bad. reallll bad

So yeah, you guys are lucky cause most people only post pictures online of themselves looking good but not ME! These pics are maybe a little less hideous that the pics of me after i got my teeth pulled but here we go.. i'll show u what i did today.

Here's me drinking unsweetened tea cause my mom won't let me have sugar now, as it will just 'feed the virus' according to her.

oh and then later i got a little crazy...

2 hours later... ditched the afghan and got some more tea

needless to say i didn't go to school and i think i'm going to have to force myself to go tomorrow and it's going to SUCK. I could honeslty sleep for 20 hours a day if i was left on my own.

AND! here's the best part.. i have to cancel my trip to Edmonton this weekend. I've only been looking forward to this trip for 2 entire months, whats the big deal?? (serious sarcasm intended)

Well... wish me luck and maybe i'll be better by Christmas

Colleen

PS: another exciting thing is that this gives me a chance to wear my matching blue glow in the dark kitty pjs 24/7. man this just keeps getting BETTER

It was a joyous pink day

what a nice day of school i had today! i had a super easy stats quiz that just made me feel good for the rest of the day, plus i finished in 20 min so that gave me a nice little 40 min break in the middle of my day. plus i wore my new hot pink heels which match my new hot pink purse so really.. how could i NOT be in a good mood?

i left my knitting needle at janes last night, so alas today when i took my scarf to knit on the train on the way to school.. i was met with the nasty surprise that i only had 1 needle. those of you that know how knitting works would know that it's pretty useless to only have one needle. However, when i went back to her place to pick it up Beth lent me 2 movies, so i'm going to watch Win a Date with Tad Hamilton tonight by myself while i continue to knit my luscious pink scarfy. It's going to be so cute.. and furry! I want to have this finished before i go to edmonton this weekend so i can start a new project on the bus on the way up, but maybe i'll just delay finishing this one for a while. who knows.. here's what it looks like currently.. not so long eh?

CAN'T WAIT TO GO TO EDMONDTON THIS WEEKEND!!! i miss my friends up there wayyyy too much, plus i'm 18 now so we can all go out together FINALLY!! so i'm saving all my money and energy for this weekend so i can shop my little heart out (and party a bit too :)

well i'm off to watch a chick flick by myself and avoid doing my homework!
Colleen
