Sick Sucks

Alright so the show goes up (starts performances) on August 1st... and i have tonsils the size of texas. Seriously they're huge. Apparently i have a viral infection, thats why the tests said, but i go in to the doctor tomorrow morning so that she can tell me what i'm supposed to do about it. In the meantime i've been taking SO many vitamins and eating so many vegetables and drinking tons of water. I can still sing and talk and all that, my voice just sounds a little funny cause theres really only a tiny hole left in my throat for air to go through. YEAH that makes it really difficult to eat sometimes. Not fun.

ANYWAYS so the show is called "Annie Get Your Gun" and i'm performing August 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 at 6:30pm. And for all of you who went to Wise Wood, if you come on Aug. 3, 4, 7, or 11 you will get to see Matt Eger, Rielle, Akiva and I perform all together! I know this is all very confusing so maybe just check with me before buying tickets and i can let you know if the day you want to come is going to be good. [PS: You can get the tickets from ticketmaster.. they're around 12 bucks i think... and all of the proceeds go to scholarships for the actors.] If you want you can also just come down to the plaza and sit on the grass and watch the show for free. I dont care.. as long as you come!!

I'll leave you with a few pictures from the show so you can get some sort of an idea of what it's about:

Alright time for
bed.

Colleen

Karaoke QUEEN

Thats me alright.
Our staff party earlier this week was so much fun. We booked the top floor of the Bull and Finch and had Karaoke and drinks and food and pool and fuseball and FUN! I should really get to bed here cause it's almost 4 and i have to work tomorrow morning on the patio (hooray for short skirts and hooker boots at work).. but i want to post some pictures first!

There's Matt shaving Icabodian the dinasauragatoradile (we're not sure what it is.. some sort of reptile) on the way to the party. For some reason Lisa has razors in her car and matt felt the need to groom the stuffed animal that they won at the Stampede. I just LOVE this picture, it really captures the 5 year old boy within Matt. Perfect !

Alright the rest of the pictures are of various party festivities including the karaoke. For the sake of just posting bunch of pics without having it take a zillion years.. i'm not going to write anything about them for now (except for maybe a few where i can't resist), i'll just post them all and you can click on them to enlarge them or right click to save them to your computer if you're in them and want a copy or whatnot!

All these pictures in a row are hurting my eyes.

Does anyone else feel the same way? Maybe i just take too many pictures.

Oh look how Lisa loves to be seranaded. She just deserves to be sung to all the time.

We ACTUALLY got Mike (our GM) to sing!! Woot!

Ooh all of these pictures remind me that i have this roll of film on which 20 pictures were taken at some point between the summer and my birthday last year but were never developed because i never took the last 4 pictures on the roll after i got my digital camera and started using that all the time. Well tonight i used the last 4 pictures at rehearsal so i'm going to take it in to be developed tomorrow. i'm so excited to see what 9 month old pictures could be waiting for me! :) YAAAY

I'm off to bed now. But before i let it go too long, EVERYONE better be coming to see the show i'm in .. Annie Get your Gun.. in Olympic Plaza the first 2 weeks of August. CALL ME and i'll tell you all about it.

Love you all,
Colleen

Stampede and other festivities

Mmm stampede. I say that and i MEAN it cause the only reason i even LIKE stampede is because the food is so mmmm yummy. I ate SOOO much. Too bad they didn't have deep fried snickers bars this year, Matt and I were so ready. BUT they do have CHICKEN SCHNITZEL!

We started off our day at the stampede at around... 6:30pm because I worked until 3:30am the night/morning before, and Matt worked at 7am that same morning (if that makes ANY sense to you) sooo i slept all day and Matt needed some nappage before our big outing. Anyhow... THIS is how happy Matt looked before some guy with really lowriding pants slapped him in the face. "LOVVVVE!!!!"

I also got a few rad-ass ride pictures, although i personally only went on one ride .. and by the way thank you Akiva and Tyne for the tickets to get me on that ride. You know, the appeal of the rides at the Stampede reallllly wears off after having lived in Calgary your whole life and therefore going to the stampede a few times every year for.. a lot of years.

Lets see, what else is new..
We're back to rehearsing every evening. However i wish that it was during the day because i never have any energy by night time plus how am i EVER going to get a good summer tan when i'm working all day and by the time we get to rehearsal the suns not tanning anymore :(

Oh well, tonight I went to Boston Pizza for some pasta tuesday after rehearsal with Lisa and Matt, which reminded me to post my other pictures taken last tuesday when we all went to Moxies for Margaritas, and then down to 17th and i locked my keys in my car and then found the AMA guy on the street and then we went to Classic Jacks and THEN we went to Boston Pizza afterwards. YEP, thats how it happened. Right the pictures...

Aww i love girls nights. We all got dressed up and shared a classic combo platter and some extra popcorn shrimp and bugged Colin and got Brendan to make us special margaritas PLUS Lindsay and Lisa got Mexican Bulldogs. WHYY didn't I take a picture of that?? (ps i have no clue why this is underlined, its just the way it is)

Alright tell my that isn't the CUTEST cocktail drinking picture EVER!! MmmmMm! I've become QUITE the margarita/daquiri/bellini drinker this summer. I'm addicted to sugar and alcohol, whats wrong with that??

Gah i don't feel like going to sleep but i'm pretty darn sleepy. Maybe i just should since i have an orthodontist appointment tomorrow that i have to get up for. Eww. BUT my braces should be coming off soon so that's a happy thing!

MANNN i can't wait till September when i get to go shopping for stuff for my new place!!! 2 months till school starts again :) I just want to LEAAAAARN. That sounds dumb. In 3 months when i'm already sick of school, remind me that i wanted to learn so badly before.

right okay i'm going to bed,
I'll post some knitting pics next time, the blanket is coming along.. slowly but surely.
ALSO you need to see a picture of the boys in Summerstock dressed as acrobats OH MY LORD i have never seen 4 boys in tighter clothing before in my entire life. Dress rehearsal tomorrow.. i'll have to bring my camera!

Love,
Colleen

7 million

That is around how many knitting projects i have started and haven't finished yet. Lets make a list:

- legwarmers
- baby blanket
- crocheted flower purse
- crocheted afghan
- cabled toque

okay that's not 7 million but it's quite a few and now i have another to add to the list. i present to you 'wrist warmer':

These are a surprise for a very cute friend of mine who says her hands and wrists get cold when she's typing on her computer. I realized i had that problem too and that is how the wristwarmer came to be. I am only done one however, but perhaps i'll keep plugging and the partner will be done soon.

Alright last week me, Lisa, Leila, Kendra and her friend went to the Roadhouse. I took some super cute pics yet when i looked at them today, to my dismay, i realized that there was a freaking smudge on my lens that entire night !! You can definitely see it it pretty much blurs someones face (mostly mine) in every picture to follow:

Oh and of course we saw Jill there beer-tubbing so i hopped up on her bench and got a pic with her. Plus it was D'Evan's Re-birthday so we saw her for a bit.. actually i believe i ran around the washroom screaming D'EVAAAAN while she was in the can because Lisa told me she saw her in there and i was.. well.. a little tipsy.

Anyhow here are some updates cause it's been a while:
- back to summerstock in 1 week, i've been working SOOO much during this hiatus from rehearsals, holy man. for instance right now i'm in the middle of 9 days straight working no days off, and 4 of those days i'm working doubles.. like TODAY when i was at Moxies for 12 hours straight. WOW so glad i love all the people there

- our kitchen is finally done! there are a few finishing touches to put in.. like putting the new fridge back into the kitchen, but it looks really gorgeous and finally we got rid of that microwave from the 80s that had no buttons just a turny knob

- i got into res at UofC.. i found that out a while ago but i think i kept forgetting to write it here. I'm living in Cascade, the newest apartment style building. it's a NICCCE building! It even had a mini gym in the basement with workout machines and cross trainers and treadmills and a TV. Man i don't even have to make the 3 minute trek to the kinesiology building to go to the gym. I applied for a co-ed room so chances are i'll be living with one other girl and 2 guys, we share a common space and a kitchen, but there are 2 bathrooms in the apartment and everyone gets their own bedroom with a lock on it, so thats nice. MANNN the apartment is tiny, but get this... my closet will be HUGE they're all WALK IN closets. k the closet is like.. almost bigger than the actual room, haha

Okay i can't think of anything else to update you on right now so i will wrap it up here by saying thank you Cale and Akiva for 1) reading my blog still and 2) supporting me. I love you guys so much you are awesome friends.

Night night:)
Colleen
