SRT - Scattered Random Thoughts

I was just about to write some shiznit in my personal thoughts book (i refuse to say i keep a diary cause its not all this 'dear diary, i love matt damon' bullshit), when i realized i should really be writing this on here. Why not, that way at least the people who read it know i'm still alive, plus i can still write personal things because i know that hardly anyone DOES actually read it and the people that do.. well i trust most of you :)

Alright SRT #1 - i might just die this week, a quiz, a midterm, and an exam.. and an english paper. Plus i'm participating in this economics experiment at school tuesday night and i work thursday night and all weekend, and i'm sick as a dog on a bike eating ice cream on the moon. Mhmm, u heard me. And if i'm feeling okay i'll go to summerstock on friday night. Don't be surprised if you don't ever hear from me again.

SRT #2 - i can't stand people that aren't motivated, that don't give a shit about anything except boozing and hooking up and getting by on what they are given. I spose thats what keeps me motivated in times like this when i feel like saying 'wtf, why don't i just take a year off and bum around like so many people'. NO way am i going to be that guy.

#3 - sometimes i can be really blunt. I love people that can handle that. People like Rielle and Carlee and Ryan.. where i can just say what i mean without having to sugar coat it. But i do feel bad when my bluntness comes out when talking to someone that doesn't understand me as well, because then it comes off as bitchyness and thats no good .

#4 - watching tv is the biggest bloody waste of time EVER.. whyyyy do i get sucked innnnnn?

#5 - eating healthy makes my skin look better, mayyybe i shouldn't have had 5 chocolate chip cookies today .. and a piece of cheesecake... and a bunch of chocolate kisses

#6 - chocolate chip cookies are my weakness. If i was the hero in a novel my hamartia would be.. chocolate chip cookies... the chewy kind.

#7 - why is it always so easy for people to guess how old i am... if i say i'm in university they say 'first year, right?' and if i'm at a bar they say 'you must be only 18, right?' .. mannn do i look like i'm 12? ... don't answer that. Whats going to happen next year or the year after.. they'll say 'first year right?' and i'll say 'no, actually i'm graduating next year'. Oh geez

#8 - is it weird that although i love meeting new people.. i don't so much like dating new people? i get all freaked out every time i have to go on a first date, and wonder why i don't just go back to one of the guys i actually know and trust and know what wavelength they're on. i mean clearly it didn't work out the first time so why should i even think about going back but.. it just seems easier than moving forward. MAYBE i'm just a slacker... a lazy goodfornothing slacker.

#9 - i love JEANS! i have .. lets see.. over 10 pairs of jeans that i wear regularly and a few that i only wear on special occasions (such as the sparkly pair of jeans or the supertight nice ass jeans). THAT is just a lot of jeans for one girl to have. They're just so comfy and match everything and can be casual or dressy depending on what you wear them with. I have over 40 pairs of pants and its ridiculous cause all i ever really wear is my jeans. Gotta love em.

#10 - as i mentioned in my previous entry i finished my first home-knit sock EVER! it's so cute!!! now.. here are some pictures for you all to enjoy:

Man its so much fun making toe-up socks cause u can try them on as u go to make sure they fit! I'm currently working on the matching one but it might be a while cause of the aforementioned death week. (click on the pics to get up close & personal with my sock)

SRT # 11 - i learned how to drink beer finally. The other night at the Den it was 7 dollar pitchers and Carlee convinced me to share 2 pitchers with her, although by the way we were both feeling by the end of the night i think she had a little more than me, which is fine by me cause eww beer,. but yes.. nevertheless i drank that shiznit and i drank it well, look i have proof.

Nice boobs Carlee. I can just see what she's going to say "Hello.. my face is UP HERE". Hehehe, good thing I don't have that problem :(

# 12 - everyone should always enjoy a nice pina colada. ALWAYS. i have a feeling that if we all just always had a nice cocktail in our hands we wouldn't have as many problems. Glug glug glug.. soup in a mug.. okay i just made that up and it has nothing to do with this i just liked it cause it rhymed.

And last but not least, # 13 - Ignivomous: def. - vomiting fire. I just randomly happened upon this word when looking up words in the dictionary. Dont ask.

Going to bed now to combat sickness from hell and to get a headstart on deathweek.

Nights on the Town!

So in the past week or so that i haven't posted, we've gone out a few times and had some good fun. Here are some pics of all that fun we were having..

One night we all gathered at Beth's for a little pre-drinking shindig.



Then we headed on over to Cowboys where i met up with Carlee and then lost Carlee and then found her again and didn't end up seeing Beth or Steve or anyone else after that until Steve came to me to give me my coat check ticket. Boo.. clubs are bad to go to with a bunch of friends cause u always lose them. (not saying it wasn't my fault)



And then the other night.. thursday night.. right before reading week, Carlee and I went to the Den for some good times after she finished her BSEN exam. We saw Mike Biggs and Adin and all their engineering friends, and this totally random cute guy asked me on a date. I have called him back once since then but we haven't set up a date yet, i'm not so sure i want to date at all right now. Anyhow here's the few pics i managed to take cause my camera ran outta batteries.


Look at me i'm drinking BEER! i NEVER drink beer, but it was 7 dollar pitchers so .. i mean.. we had to, right? And something went wonky with the lights in the 2nd one and both of our noses look strange, weird!

Alright well that's it for now, i've got to get to bed. However.. i did finish my first knitted sock tonight and it's BEAUUUTIFUL and i love it, so i'll show you pics of that soon :)

11 hrs to my first midterm

Alright well the countdown is on. I'm not so much worried about this exam (cause it really shouldn't be all that hard) but i'm just not looking forward to the official beginning of midterm fever. Oh well at least we're starting off easy with economics. I'll let you know how that goes.

When i was supposed to be studying econ yesterday i ended up painting my nails instead. It took me an hour and a half to do this (admittedly i was a little distracted by the tv) so you better check it out!!

Ooooh and while we're showing things off here... how good does THIS drink look. A lovely warm white hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate shavings featured in an extra large mug courtesy of the awesome Kristen Barker (got it for my 17th bday).

In other ... more shocking news: I SAW CSABA ON TV TODAY. No joke. My non-english speaking, 2 sweaters for the entire semester-wearing, bad mark-giving calculus TA was on the crazy hungarian or somethingorotherlanguage channel today! Why was I watching this, you ask? Well i wasn't really.. but since i didn't go to school today i was watching muchmoremusic in the afternoon and i just flipped a few channels down and THERE HE WAS. He was only on for a few seconds while i was watching and it was in a completely different language but from what i gathered.. he was doing something math-ish or slightly intellectual. WHAT ON EARTH. I'm so sad that Csaba can get on TV and i have yet to become a star. SO SAD.

Well, i spose i should get to bed sometime soon. Beth was trying to get everyone to head over to Cowboys on Saturday so i'm just spreading the word... it'd be fun if we could ALLLLL go (except you Akiva, even if you DID live here i wouldn't invite you :p).

i heart manuelo

Who is this Manuelo of whom i speak? Well i'll tell you.. he's my pink feathered bird pen that i bought at the university book store last week for 3 dollars. He's the best thing that's happened to me alllllll week.. well aside from acing my spanish test.. which i did! Anyhow i'll post a pic of Manny at the bottom for you all to marvel at.

Alright well last weekend the weather was CRAPOLA so instead of driving anywhere far we just went to Boston Pizza for some good eats and some fun times. Other than having an entire beer spilled onto my pants and having to go home and change them in the middle of the night.. it was a fun day. The boys were obsessed with this golfing game that took them like 2 hours to play all the way through, meanwhile Heather and I enjoyed the "sweetheart cake" (a valentines promotion dessert, mmm) that Jason bought for us. here's some pics..

Man i had such a weird night tonight. I was up pretty late last night downloading a picture and a new ringtone onto my cell (and studying a bit of stats for my quiz today... a bit), so i was pretty tired when i got home from school today. Right after dinner i laid down to read this short story for english class and i just closed my eyes for a minute ... and woke up at 11:30 at night. Rielle called me a gramma cause i took a nap :( Anyhow so now i probably won't be able to sleep tonight and then the vicious cycle will just start all over again. Oh well i have a lot of studying i should be doing anyways. And if u were wondering... the pic i put on my phone is the one of Robyn and I at her birthday party, and my new ringtone is the piano-y themesong from Will & Grace.

knitting, eating and blogging

Add bathroom trips to that list and i have everything i need to survive for the rest of my life.

Here's a pic of the toque that will have flaps and a pom pom and tassles that i'm making to match my purple coat, seeee the matchingness? And tonight i just had a craving for chewy little cookies (probably because i had yummy chewy little cookies today at lunch from Bake Chef) and so i made some. I started them at 11:30 and was done by 12 just in time to watch Sex and the City. WOOOOT! thats timing! I'm taking the rest of the cookies to school for my spanish group so that i don't eat all of them.. but after i took this picture i ate about half of whats in that tupperware. OOPS. dont tell

Next up we have the swatch that i made for the socks that i'm starting. I decided socks would be fun so i went out and bought this Bernat "Sox" yarn in "jazz hot". It has pink in it so that was definitely the best choice. I had to get new DPNs too cause i did'nt have any small enough, so i bought a new set of US 3s. They're pretty small but nowhere near 1s like some people use to knit socks. With no further ado i present to you my swatch:

God knows if and when i'll ever get around to making these socks. I tried to make a toe and it took me like 2 hours and i ended up frogging it cause it was kiiiinda heinous. Oh well, you knit, you learn.

Alright so i think i might have come up with an idea as to what i want to do next year schoolwise. It seems like the biggest hassle in the world to transfer universities, even after only one year. There are all these stupid prerequisites like Calculus II and a second English course that i just really could not be bothered to take in the summer that i'd need to go anywhere else. So i think i will stay here BUT live in residence. Yeah i know what you're thinking... ewww res. But 2nd and higher year res is apartment style so i'd have my own room but live in a little apartment with 3 other people and our own kitchen and bathroom and living room/tv area. I think that'd be neat cause the biggest thing i hate about Calgary is the weather, but if i live at school i barely ever have to go outside! MUAHAHA. So i put my application form in and lets hope that i am accepted for res. I was talking to Akiva tonight and we talked about the whole res thing, and on my application i said i would prefer living in a co-ed apartment, thinking that'd be cool. Well now Akiva has me all scared that i'm going to end up getting involved with a guy in my apartment and bad things will happen and it'll be weird and it will always be messy and guys will be smelly and stupid and AHHH maybe i should have just gone for an all girls apartment. Oh well, it's all in the universities hands now, all i can do is wait.. and hope.

PLUS if i lived there i could still come home on the weekends for good food and to do my laundry and use my dads car and perhaps still work at BPs. But thats so far in the future. who the heck knows, i don't even know what i'm wearing to school and it's 2:00 in the morning and i should go to bed.

I thought i'd post this picture. Bobby told me i should get one of these a long time ago but i just went back to see it cause i remembered it was cute and i thought i'd share it with you all.
