11 DAYS!

I think i'm going to start packing today, seeing as i have the whole day off from work. But that will have to wait until i finish this entry. You will even get to see some pictures because Lisa sent me some she took on Austin's last night out with us (he is going back to school at McGill).

So, we went out to moxie's Shaughnessy to see Kelly (who works at both moxie's's.. umm.. moxi?? what on earth is the plural? i'm going with Moxi) and then after we went to Boomtown for some karaoke but we only ended up singing a song or two cause we got there late and there were already so many people lined up to sing. Definitely not a stellar karaoke night but it was a fun night with friends: Kelly, Lana, Lana's roommate, MattE, Akiva, Lisa, and Austin. Lisa went camera crazy as usual and had us pose all sorts of crazy ways:

Somehow it's not fair that Lisa looks seductive and i look like a deer in the headlights.
And on the right.. Lemon Face!!!

So this is Akiva and I playing dead, or maybe we're playing movie versions of someone pretending they're dead when really they're just trying not to get killed by a maniacal murderer by tricking him into thinking they're already dead. Yeaa, thats it.
The one on the right i call: "Akiva smells bad, ostracize him."

I don't even know what direction we were getting when we posed for that first pic, but i think it might have been something like: "Colleen, act like you think the fact that Lisa is constipated is just too scandalous for television." That must have been it. And on the right, a completely nice picture of Austin and Lana. It's lana's birthday today too!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! hopefully we do something fun tonight, too bad i won't be able to document it on camera.

Alright now i found some pictures on the summerstock page that are cute so i'm going to post some of those too, since my Gala post was definitely not extensive enough, and i'm already misisng summerstock people:

Caley and MattE getting a little wild at after-gala. They should have stood together, what with their color coordinating outfits and similar uggo-faces.

Now this picture is so cool that i'm going to make it big so you can see it, but u can always click on it to make it evvvven bigger.

It's sort of just a snapshot of everyone out in the middle of Ryan's living room dancing and drinking, and if you look to the left you can see Joelle looking like an angel from heaven with her glowing skin and beautiful golden hair. Craaazzzzy.

Okay, i just realized when looking at my pics that i have so many more from the actual Gala that are blog-worthy, so i'm going to save those for another day when i'm again pictureless but want to post pictures. It'll work out perfectly.

Now, i spose i should start on my packing/cleaning.

11 daaaays!
Colleen

PS: i had a dream last night that i was at camp, and Lisa and Matt Molyneux were there with me, and they were both being mean to me and i couldn't find any nice clothes to wear and it wasn't fun at all. What does it all meannn??

no pictures :(

My poor little baby camera is sick :( I don't know what's wrong with it but when i turn it on the zoom goes out, and then back in, and then out and in again and then it turns back off. it's not the batteries so now i'm hooped. I guess i'll have to take it to a camera hospital somewhere, but in the meantime there will be no new pictures :( This is even sadder cause i have so many new things to show you :
  • new crocheting
  • new amazing things for my bedroom in res
  • new shoes (2 pairs!)
  • new hair cut!! yeaaa
Well anyhow, those will have to wait.
For now i'll just say that it is exactly 2 weeks until i'll be all moved into my new place!!! So excited. In the meantime i have been and will be working every single day mostly double shifts because everyone has either quit or taken time off to get back to school, and i'm one of the few whose school doesn't start till the 12th.

so yes, to continue my countdown to freedom: 14 DAYYYYYSSSS!!

19 DAYS

Well technically 18 cause it's 1:43am on Tuesday now, but i haven't been to bed yet so still.. 19 days till i move out!! Oh man this is going to be the most painful 19 days EVER just waiting and waiting and waiting till the day that i am free. Right now Akiva is helping me make a list of all the things i'm going to need to move out and he reminded me of "alarm clock" and "phone", man i'd be so out of touch without those. While i was thinking of things i remembered i never showed you all what my new bedding looks like so here is a picture i found on the internet of the whole thing:
So yes, it is zebra patterned BUT it's not black and white, it's black and a beatiful brownish/copper color. It's GORGEOUS in real life i promise. And the sheets are this gorgeous stripe pattern, they're all black but the striping is in a slightly shinier finish they are over 300 thread count and just really really nice. But, if you really want to see it all then you'll just have to come visit me in residence after i get all settled in! YAY.

I bought new shoes today too YAY. Man i'm pretty sure all my days off from Moxie's in the next 3 weeks will be spent shopping, which i don't have a problem with at all. I need a new pair of jeans and i know exactly what i want which might make it kind of hard to find them. Speaking of Moxie's, i'm fine now. Other than sometimes work gets to be long hours and lots of running your ass off for ungrateful customers, i still love it and i would be so bored if i didn't work there.. and so often too. I don't know what to do when i go back to school though cause everyone tells me i just won't have the time and won't want to be working at all when i go back. I guess i'll try it out for a few weeks and if it doesn't work i can always quit.

Lisa, Lana and I saw "The Aristocrats" tonight. Man that is one dirty movie. Dirty yet really very funny. Too bad Lana fell asleep halfway through. I need to watch more movies i've decided. Maybe that's a good way to pass the time between now and September 10th. I am going to watch more by myself too, it's fun to unwind and crochet and watch a movie that everyone else has seen and doesn't want to see again with you, hehe.

Alright thats about all for me
By the way i'm thinking of putting even more blonde into my hair
Thoughts??

Colleen

PS: i hope you noticed that my blog has gone blue. Some of the archived pages refuse to make the changeover, which is funny and odd. What do you think about the new look?

i promised myself..

that i would never cry about work. Well at least i didn't cry AT work. but soon as i walked out the back door to start the long trek to my car i felt a tear roll down my cheek, and a few more came after that.. by the time i got into my car i was bawling like a little baby. A baby i say. As i sit at my computer, still all stuffed up from crying too much, I just have to laugh a bit. I read some posts on the summerstock callboard and realized that there ARE people out there that don't judge me and don't care how much money i make for their company. And i love those people and things really aren't as bad as they seem. Sometimes you just need a good cry and something upsetting to happen, so you can appreciate the good people in your life. So now my tears are gone, i promise. I love work and the people at work. I was just a little frustrated i guess and annoyed at myself for letting something so dumb get to me. I try to be tough i really do.

On a more cheerful note, Gala was fun times. Here are a few pics, but really it would take me too long to post them all (cause lord knows i take too many pictures).

That was at Gala, sort of like our graduation from the program so everyone gets all dressed up (even the statues.. thanx to Quinn!). And then after we have after-gala.. sort of like after-grad when everyone gets drunk and dances around and sings to crazy music and many people spoon in a hide-a-bed and then go hay-bale jumping at 6am.. WAIT what?? That didn't happen at your after-grad? Well then maybe it's not quite like that, but fun none-the-less. Here's some pics to prove it:

And then of course, there's CLEANUP, which turns Gala into a 2 day event. After after-gala we all get to go back to the school and put away the entire set including HUGE piles of wood scraps that get to be moved not ONCE but TWICE from one place to another. Now cleanup itself.. not so much fun.. but going to Rielle's after cleanup to watch Babe and make the biggest pot of KD in the planet.. MUCHO EXCELLENTE. Again.. pictures to prove it:

Put these together with 2 superb chefs and you get:

Love you all (especially lisa who talked me out of the blubbery whiny mess i was in earlier)
Colleen

PS: 22 days until i move out!!

PPS: thanx for the nice comment on my last post Quinn. Nice to see that someone reads my crazy ramblings.

at the end of the day..

I feel that this will end up as somewhat of an SRT post, so maybe i'll start with the numbers:

Scattered Random Thoughts:

1) i love how music can completely enhance a mood i'm in . If i'm upset i put on some mellow music and it just brings me to a place.. a place that is still upset but in a much more comforting way. And of course happy music makes happy times much better too.. but happiness is not what promted this.

2) my hand hurts. I got stung by a wasp today. For the first time ever. I've never been stung by a bee or a wasp or anything like that before. It really hurt and now it's all puffy. Worst part: the wasp showed up in my purse.. STILL ALIVE... a couple hours later. Best part: Heather actually showed some sympathy for me, and some vengeance against the wasp. Love her

3) I am having the hardest time EVER waiting for September to come. I know its bad cause summer is beautiful and a time to be free and enjoy everything.. but i really just want to go back to school. Nont only do i feel like i'm wasting my mind, but i am also just excited to move out, and get back in the groove of school. Ooh here's pictures of the living room and kitchen of the apartment in residence that i'll be living in :

4) I still don't have a dress for Gala. It's sort of like a graduation that we have from the program of "summerstock" which is essentially the play that we're doing right now. We're supposed to wear ball gowns but i can't find anything good at the stores, so i might just end up wearing my grad dress. Dammit.

5) It's really hot in my room. Maybe cause i have the space heater right next to me on high. But when i turn it off i get freezing cold.

6) Yesterday CJ, Kayla, Akiva and I went to Eau Claire on an excursion before summerstock. We got chinese food and ice cream and then went to the dollar store on a search for 'friendship' somethings. After Akiva suggested we get 'friendship saltshakers' we actually ended up finding something BETTER (i know.. hard to do). We found these beaded bracelets where one says "best" and the other one says "friend". But the one CJ pointed to first didn't say "friend" it said "dneirf" and there is absolutely no possible way to wear it that makes it say 'friend' the right way around. It's genius. So we all bought those, although the rest of them were spelled the right way. Glorious day.

7) I was trying to come up with a potential tattoo. This is the drawing i have so far. Feel free to comment on it or change it or tell me something else you think i should get ..

8) I have an orthodontist appointment tomorrow. Lets hope he tells me i'm getting my braces off soon. Unless you're Cale and happen to like my braces for some odd reason.

9) I miss Cale. I don't even know if he's in Alberta anymore. I'm afraid to call incase he's gone and then i'll be even sadder.

10) I also have an appointment with an internist tomorrow. Apparently they check out your...internal.. organs? Well. Could be an adventure.

11) Tomorrow is my last night performing with Akiva.. because it's Akiva's last night performing! It's going to be so much fun i know it. I also know that the old sap is going to cry like a baby after it's over. Good thing everyone isn't stone cold like me. I never cry at the right moments. Anyhow that's off topic.. Akiva i had so much fun performing with you this year and spending the entire summer with you all the time and forgetting to pick you up sometimes and pretending to be weird raptor.. things... ALL OF IT.. just fun times.

12) The baby blanket is NEVER going to be done. I feel like giving up so badly. It's about maybe half way right now and i have been working on it every second i get. How frustrating.

13) A few candid moments behind the scenes of "Annie Get Your Gun".

I call them "Scott tries to be scary" and "Scott wears pink fur".

14) Lisa and I just watched 'the Jacket'. What a crazy and amazing movie.

Alright it's bed time

Love,
Colleen

Ravish me... i'm READY!

YAY! today was an amazing show. (Ps: "ravish me, i'm ready" is a line from the play.. i'm really not ready myself.. at all.. to be ravished) Anyhow, there was so much energy tonight and nothing major went wrong... in fact i can't think of anything that went wrong. It was the first time i got to perform with Akiva so that was really fun. It's really neat getting to perform opposite two different people, Akiva and Keith both play the part differently but they both fit with my character and both are great performers. Anyhow, Lisa, Kelly, Austin and Lana from work came to watch today which was nice, and Jill was there as well. I got Lisa to take some pictures and she took some really awesome ones, so i'll put them up here...

These first 4 pics are from opening night:

And now here are some from tonight:

Anyhow, i really should get to bed... but i have a knitting picture to post first! I finished my first off-white cabled wrist warmer & it is so cute. Someday i might finish the second to match it. I plan on making tons of different styles of wristwarmers, they're so fun. If you want a pair just let me know and someday i bet i'll make them for you!!

Here it is pictured with my new skirt AND shoes i got on my shopping/restaurant-hopping/walking down 17th ave. date with Lisa yesterday. Thank you to Lisa AND her friend Bryan for helping me find a kickass rad new outfit.

Alright bed time for me :)
Love,
Colleen
